Trevor Gough was born and raised in Drumheller. His post secondary education started at Mount Royal College where he completed his Business Administration diploma. Upon completion of this he immediately entered the Bachelor of Commerce program at the University of Calgary majoring in accounting. In 1994 he completed his degree. This education laid the foundation necessary to enter into and complete the Certified General Accountants program while working in public practice. Trevor has extensive experience in the personal and corporate field.
He has worked exclusively in public practice since obtaining his designation. During that time his work experience has been with farms and their associated programs, oilfield consulting, not-for-profit organizations, retail organizations, real estate, professional corporations, restaurants, trust work and other services. Consequently, he has spent considerable time dealing with personal taxation, goods and service tax compliance, personal and corporate financial statements and their associated tax requirements. He spent part of his earlier years working for an associated Chartered Accountant's firm Smith CaGeorge, handling corporate client files and doing audit work in Calgary.
